Folder & File Management

PrxmptStudix uses a unified File Explorer system to manage Datasets, Personas, and Businesses. This system provides a familiar, desktop-like experience for organizing your prompt engineering assets at scale.

Selecting a Folder shows the items inside it in the bottom panel.

Hierarchical Organization

Keep your workspace clean using nested folders:

Create Folders: Use the Folder Icon at the top of the sidebar to create new organizational categories.
Nested Structure: Drag and drop folders into one another to create deep hierarchies (e.g., Client A > Project B > Experiment 1).
Recursive Counts: Each folder displays a count of all items it contains, including those in its sub-folders.
Breadcrumbs: When a folder is selected, its full path is displayed above the item list for easy orientation.

Efficient Discovery

Finding your assets is fast and intuitive:

All Collections: Select the "All User [Entity]" root to see every asset regardless of which folder it's in.
Search: The search bar filters both folders and items in real-time.

Built-In Assets: High-quality, pre-configured items provided by PrxmptStudix are stored in a dedicated "Built-In" root (visibility can be toggled in Settings and they are not included in the "All User [Entinty]" collection).

Drag-and-Drop Workflows

The Explorer supports multi-dimensional drag-and-drop:

Categorization: Drag items from the list into any folder in the tree to move them.
Reorganization: Drag folders within the tree to change your hierarchy. (You can nest folders)

Selection & Bulk Actions

For high-volume management, the Explorer features a dedicated Selection Mode:

Toggling Selection: Hover over an item or folder and click the checkbox to start selecting.
Range Selection: Hold Shift while clicking to select a range of items.
Mutually Exclusive Selection: You can bulk-select either folders or items, but not both at once, to ensure predictable actions.
Bulk Operations: Once items are selected, a top toolbar appears allowing you to:
- Bulk Export: Download selected assets as JSON/CSV.
- Bulk Move: Drag the entire selection into a new folder.
- Bulk Reorder: Use the Up and Down Arrows in the action bar to move the selection vertically within its current list or folder.
- Bulk Delete: Remove multiple assets in one go.

Import & Export

PrxmptStudix allows you to easily move your data in and out of the application.

The Import button is visible at the top right corner of the file explorer if no items or folders are selected.
If anything is selected then it converts to an Export button!

Exporting Assets

Single Export: Use the download icon on an individual asset's header.
Bulk Export: Select multiple items or folders in the sidebar and click Export.
Formats:
- JSON: The native format for PrxmptStudix, preserving all metadata and internal structures.
- CSV: Best for viewing or editing in spreadsheet software. When exporting to CSV, nested data (like persona demograhics) is flattened for compatibility.
Collections: When exporting multiple entities at once, they are packaged into a single file for convenience.

Importing Assets

JSON Import: Native files are automatically recognized and added to your collection.
CSV Import & Mapping: When importing a CSV, you'll be presented with a Mapping Modal. This allows you to match columns from your file with the internal fields of PrxmptStudix (e.g., mapping a column named "User Age" to the Persona "Age" field).
Conflict Handling: If an imported item has the same name as an existing one, it will be added as a duplicate or renamed to avoid data loss.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Maximize your productivity with standard shortcuts:

Ctrl + A: Select all items or folders in the current view.
Esc: Deselect everything.
Delete / Backspace: Trigger bulk deletion for the current selection.
